Calendar
The Boathouse holds a meeting on the first Tuesday of every month at the boathouse. The meetings are called to order at 6:30PM. You do not need to be a member of the Boathouse to attend a meeting. We just talk about our current plans and the programs we are running. The meetings take place at our Pier 96 location. During the paddling season a short orientation for new volunteers will follow the meeting.
Every Wednesday evening we offer a short informational session on a wide variety of kayak related topics. Most of these take place on the water and cover some basic kayak-related skill. Feel free to bring your own kayak, or you can use one of ours. The classes take place at our Pier 96 location.

City of Water Festival on Governors Island, Multiple paddlers will converge on Governors island. There will be food, drinks, entertainment. A limited Public trip wil go in the morning.We will be taking fewer people than normal so your odds of going are lower. This is a significantly longer and more strenuous trip than the typical weekend trip.The distance is about double a normal weekend trip. It will also involve crossing the battery channel with heavy boat traffic. It must NOT be your fist trip on the river. You should have done a number of trips with us before or have similar experience. If you can not keep up with the group, you will be landed before cossing to the island. On this day be prepared to spend a few hours on the island. We will not be returning to the boathouse until late in the afternoon. There are regular ferries if people need to leave earlier

Harrison Street Regatta. This is our annual fun-race and BBQ that is held every year at the Boathouse. It is the highlight of the paddling season. We hold a race from Pier 96 to near our 72nd St. dock and back. The winner is the 2nd boat to cross the finish line. The race is open to all human-powered craft. All participants are entered in a drawing for boating-related prizes. Our fleet of public kayaks is available for use, or bring your own boat. Come at 1:00PM to register, the Race Starts at 2:00PM at Pier 96. A BBQ is held after the race at our the boat house. Everything including the food and soft drinks is 100% free.
